Tips & Tricks
Talk Doubles to Me
If you and your partner aren’t talking, you’re probably making your doubles games harder than they need to be. A quick “yours,” a simple hand signal, or event just moving together can turn the chaos into chemistry. Here’s how to keep things smooth on the court:
Call your shots - no more paddle collisions or last-second panic.
Figure out the middle so you’re not both staring at the ball.
Use hand signals when talking isn’t an option.
Keep it positive - because side-eye won’t win points.
Good doubles play starts with good communication. A few small tweaks can make all the difference in how you and your partner move, react, and play as a team.

Your Heart Called - It Loves Pickleball
February is Heart Month, so let’s talk about keeping your heart in top shape. The best part? You don’t need to run marathons to do it. Pickleball gets your heart rate up, builds endurance, and helps lower blood pressure - all while you’re just out there having a good time.
Gets your heart pumping with quick pivots and fast-paced rallies.
Helps lower blood pressure and support long-term heart health.
Keep you moving in a way that actually feels fun.
A little off-court balance helps too - because those post-game snacks add up. Here’s how to keep it heart-friendly.

Adaptive Pickleball: A Game for Everyone
Pickleball is for everyone, and Adaptive Pickleball (APB) is making sure of it. Founded by Sandy Halkett, this movement is breaking barriers and building a community where players of all abilities can compete, connect, and thrive.
From life-changing stories like Ricky, a young stroke survivor who found his confidence on the court, to veterans like Gary, who rediscovered joy through the game, APB is proving that pickleball is about so much more than competition.
With special events, modified gameplay, and a whole lot of heart, this program is creating opportunities where they didn’t exist before.
